The River Bonet rises in Glenade Lough, and flows in a semi circle through Manorhamilton, the village of Dromahair, and into Lough Gill.

The Bonet is a very good spring, summer and autumn fishery. Spring Salmon run from mid-March through to May. The Grilse arrive in late June and give great sport right through to the beginning of August, when the autumn fish take over through until the end of September.

Fly fishing tuition is available on site: Tuition for all ages is provided, and covers all aspects of fishing, including casting techniques, successful local fly patterns and local fishing etiquette.  Our tutor is an experienced fisherman with a vast knowledge of the river and surrounding fisheries.  Tuition caters for beginners and improvers, and aims to make the art of fly fishing accessible and fun for all. Your tutor will show you how to set up your tackle and cast competently, one to one tuition available.

Breffni Holiday cottages provides an excellent base location in relation to surrounding fisheries, with easy access to Easkey, Ballisodare, the Drowse, and the Moy in Ballina.

There are also several lakes within a couple of miles of the Cottages, which provide a variety of fishing opportunities – not least the beautiful Lough Gill, an excellent salmon fishery. Lake Carrigeencore fishes well for Pike in the winter, and Lough Adoon is an excellent fly-only Brown Trout fishery.

Boat hire is available locally.
